1. Purpose of This Policy
This Fair Use Policy describes how we expect the Proxellor proxy service to be used. Our goal is to keep the network reliable and secure for everyone and to ensure our service is used in a way that is lawful and consistent with our Terms & Conditions. By using Proxellor, you agree to this policy. Breach of it may lead to warnings, suspension, or termination of your account without refund.
2. Permitted Use
Proxellor is intended for lawful business and professional use. Examples of acceptable use include:
- Web scraping and data collection from sources that permit it
- Testing and development of web applications or services
- SEO and market research where you comply with the target site's terms and applicable law
- Accessing content or services in a way that does not violate third-party rights or policies
- Legitimate automation that does not overload our infrastructure or harm other users
You remain responsible for ensuring that your use complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction and in any territory where the proxy IPs are used.
3. Prohibited Use
You must not use the service in any of the following ways:
- Illegal activity – Any use that breaks the law, including fraud, unauthorised access to systems, distribution of malware, or handling of illegal content (including child sexual abuse material, terrorism-related content, or content that harms minors)
- Bypassing security or verification – Using the proxy to circumvent login, payment, or verification systems of third parties (e.g. payment gateways, marketplaces, or platforms that prohibit proxy access)
- Abuse of third-party services – Creating or managing fake or multi-accounts, referral fraud, or any activity that violates a platform's terms of use
- Spam and bulk messaging – Sending unsolicited bulk email, messages, or other communications through or in connection with our service
- Network or infrastructure abuse – Generating excessive load, running open proxies or relays for third parties, or any activity that could disrupt or degrade the service for others
- Harvesting or misuse of personal data – Collecting or processing personal data without a proper legal basis or in breach of data protection law
- Infringement of rights – Infringing intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties
Prohibited use includes any use that would contravene the Computer Misuse Act 1990 or equivalent law.
This list is not exhaustive. We may treat any use that we reasonably consider harmful, illegal, or inconsistent with this policy as a breach.
4. Traffic and Reasonable Use
Your use of bandwidth and connection resources should be consistent with normal, professional use of the plan you have purchased. We may monitor for patterns that suggest abuse (e.g. extreme volume, automated abuse of third-party sites, or behaviour that risks IP blacklisting). If we identify such use, we may contact you to clarify or ask you to change your use. Persistent or serious abuse may result in suspension or termination without refund.
5. Our Response to Breaches
We may take any of the following steps if we believe you have breached this policy or our Terms:
- Contact you to request that you stop the relevant activity
- Issue a warning
- Suspend your account or specific services temporarily
- Terminate your account and refuse refunds for any unused period
- Report the matter to the relevant authorities where we are legally required or permitted to do so
- Share information with law enforcement or other competent bodies when required by law or when we reasonably believe it necessary to address serious abuse
We are not obliged to give notice before suspension or termination where we reasonably consider the breach serious (e.g. illegal activity, fraud, or severe abuse). We may also share relevant information with infrastructure partners or affected third parties in connection with abuse investigations. Our decision to suspend or terminate in response to a breach is at our reasonable discretion. We are not liable to you for any loss resulting from such action where we have acted in good faith and in line with our Terms and this policy.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. We will publish the current version on our website and, where changes are significant, we may notify you by email or via the dashboard. Continued use of the service after the updated policy is published constitutes acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree, you must stop using the service.
